October Pack Meeting – 10/24/2018 – 7 PM

This month’s Pack 882 Meeting will be Wednesday October 24 at Bollinger Canyon Elementary MPR

The meeting will start at 7 PM.

The Pack meeting will feature wooden pumpkins for the Halloween season.  Older scouts will have an opportunity to carve pumpkins, all scouts will get to sand and paint.

This month is our yearly Pack uniform inspection.  Make sure you come dressed to impress in your class A uniform.

Scouting for Food

November is Scouting for Food month for Pack 882

This is a great activity because it highlights the important issue of food security and promotes a sense of community and charity, and the kids have a blast with it.

We will be collecting canned and non perishable foods for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

November 10 Distribution of door hangers by scouts
November 17 Collection of food by scouts

Interesting Scout Facts

  • Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, is an Eagle Scout. When he said, “The Eagle has landed,” he wasn’t kidding.
  • In 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt requested the Boy Scouts’ service in collecting 1.8 million items of clothing, household furnishings, foodstuffs, and supplies for victims of the Great Depression.
  • The BSA sells 2.3 million merit badges—one for each person in the state of Utah—every year.

It’s time for a great Pack 882 hike!

Winter Bird Walk

The pack’s next hike is scheduled for Saturday October 27 at 3:35 SHARP

Location is Sycamore Grove Park, Livermore

Make sure to wear your hiking boots and bring some water and a light snack.
